Human resource management is the management of an organization's workforce, or human resources. It is responsible for the attraction, selection, training, assessment, and rewarding of employees, while also overseeing organizational leadership and culture and ensuring compliance with employment act.
Business Administration & Management (HND/Dip/Cert)
Business management means to coordinate the efforts of people to accomplish goals and objectives using available resources efficiently and effectively. Management comprises planning, organizing, staffing, leading or directing, and controlling an organization or initiative to accomplish a goal. Re-sourcing encompasses the deployment and manipulation of human resources, financial resources, technological resources, and natural resources. The activities associated with running a company, such as controlling, leading, monitoring, organizing, and planning.
Secretarial Management (HND/Dip/Cert)
A secretary, personal assistant, or administrative assistant is a person whose work consists of supporting management, including executives, using a variety of project management, communication, or organizational skills. These functions may be entirely carried out to assist one other employee or may be for the benefit of more than one. In other situations a secretary is an officer of a society or organization who deals
with correspondence, admits new members, and organizes official meetings and events. A secretary has many administrative duties. Traditionally, these duties were mostly related to correspondence, such as the typing out of letters, maintaining files of paper documents, etc.

Sales & Marketing (HND/Dip/Cert)
Marketing Management is the process allocating the resources of the organization toward marketing activities.” Thus, a marketing manager is someone who is responsible for directing expenditures of marketing funds. The difference between sales and marketing is that sales involves the act of persuading consumers to purchase a product or service while marketing refers to the activities that support sale such as identifying market needs, production, branding and promoting the product. Marketing involves creation of demand of a product in the market while sales fulfill this demand. In small businesses marketing and sales are handled by the same department.

Records management means the management of creation and implementation of systematic controls for records and information activities from the point where they are created or received through final disposition or archival retention, including distribution, use, storage, retrieval, protection and preservation.
Purchasing & Supply Chain (HND/Dip/Cert)
Purchasing & Supply Chain is the management of the movement of materials as they flow from their source to the end customer. Supply Chain includes purchasing, manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, customer service; demand planning, supply planning and Supply Chain management. It is made up of the people, activities, information and resources involved in moving a product from its supplier to customer.
Accounting (CPA, ATC)
Practice and body of knowledge concerned primarily with methods for recording transactions, keeping financial records, performing internal audits, reporting and analyzing financial information to the management, and advising on taxation matters. It is a systematic process of identifying, recording, measuring, classifying, verifying, summarizing, interpreting and communicating financial information. It reveals profit or loss for a given period, and the value and nature of a firm's assets, liabilities and owners' equity. Accounting provides information on the resources available to a firm, the means employed to finance those resources and the results achieved through their use.
Banking and Finance
The department Banking and Finance was established as one among many units in the Business School. The department was created to recognize and further the important role of banking and finance to the economy of our Country as well as the leadership role played by regionalbased financial institutions in the continuing evolution of the financial services industry.
Banking is the process through which an institution provides financial services. They include collecting deposits, lending money, and issuing debit and credit cards. Finance generally means provision of funding for use in whichever area. It applies techniques to individual as well as entities to enable them to manage their financial activities. Banking Finance & Monetary Studies therefore is the application of management functions and skills to attain the above tasks.
